michaela & dave

michaela & dave are super cool, laid back, go with the flow kind of people. the kind of people anyone would love to know. dave is a huge goober and 100% kindhearted (he reminds me of my ryan, actually), and michaela has a warmth about her that made me feel comfortable and welcome from the time i walked in the door (even after mapquest sent me in the complete WRONG direction, and i was having a pseudo anxiety attack by the time i finally arrived. a "double check your route" lesson i learned the hard way that afternoon). together, they are silly and happy and oh so in love. together, they certainly are perfection.

i love me some suspenders!

thank you both for letting me share your wedding day with you. you both made me feel right at home. <3

chelsea & cj (photo overload!!)

i got a little carried away with this one. but it's my blog, and i'll post if i want to!

this was a great wedding, held at the davis islands garden club. right on the water, a great mix of greenery and ocean, the sun shining all afternoon.

can you say OMG GORGEOUS!?

love this couch.

cut it out!!!! too beautiful.

lauren and benson get hitched :]

here are just a few pics from their wedding. i could post so many more, let me tell you. so.... i might :]

but this is a good start.

lauren made these passports! what a crafty little lady, right?

gorgeous couple.

i know i've been bad..

all i can say is holy moly. i have been awful with my blog these last few months.. but i haven't forgotten about it. oh no, i have not. in fact, i'm in the middle of setting up my real-life, big-time website and professional blog. but, like many big projects, i didn't know how much work it was going to be until i started. and then i found myself scratching my head, because i hadn't planned my business well enough to make a solid portfolio site. so, out of fear and horrid intimidation, i put the project on the back-burner and continued with the busiest month of my photographer life. april was cuhrazy! and now that may has come and gone, it's time for me to get back to planning my bid'niss and getting my website/blog in order.

needless to say, i have a lot of updating up to do. sooo let me begin with lauren and benson. theirs was one of the most comfortable weddings i've ever done. not only did they bring me along on their cruise to the bahamas, but ryan and i got to know their families super well that week. they treated us like we were an integral part of the celebration, and shooting didn't feel like work. not even for one itty bitty little second.

here's a few snapshots from their engagement session in nassau. :]

the surroundings in this last photo seem pretty peaceful, right? but seriously, lauren and benson were so patient with me while we dodged cars to get that under-the-bridge shot. ryan kept his eyes peeled for crazy nassau drivers, and after about a hundred and twenty attempts, we finally got it. really, it's one of my favorite shots.. ever.

i have much more catching up to do. for those of you who have stuck around, thank you from the bottom of my heart. there are some great changes afoot, and i can't wait to share them with you. <3

elliot: part time supermodel

Lately I have come to terms with the possibility of me becoming a "cat lady" when I grow old. Not the kind who makes creepy screen printed t-shirts of her kitties' faces, or who owns more than fifteen cats at a time, but more like the kind that sings to her felines and talks to them like they're babies.

Okay, okay. So I do those things already (the singing stuff, not the t shirt stuff) and with very little shame. And when I'm bored or taking a break from editing, I like to pick up my camera and follow Elliot and Bob around the house until they do something adorable. Bob is usually unamused by my attempts to capture his personality on camera and typically just falls asleep, but Elliot looooves to ham it up. He lives to have his picture taken. Wouldn't you if you were this handsome?

I swear he poses for me. Look at the paw placement.

My little supermodel..

sea cows and industrial parks

Two posts in a row? This is unheard of! I decided I should stop being so irresponsible when it comes to blogging. I have a serious case of the procrastinations, and I want to take control of my problem. I am taking back my life this week. I even worked out and started a book yesterday! It feels good to be good to myself.

A few days ago, Ryan and I took advantage of our day off together and went for a long bike ride, stopped in at IKEA to purchase a Gustav Klimt painting for our living room (LOVE IT!), and went to the hydro plant in Apollo Beach to see the manatees. I have lived in Florida my entire life, and I never knew this free spot existed. And there weren't just a few manatees- there were at least 50 hanging out in the warm water next to the plant. Mommas and babies everywhere. Plus, there were sharks and huge fish jumping out of the water. It was way cool. If you have some free time, I definitely suggest taking your kiddos.

I love industrial parks.

Also enjoying their view of the manatees were two adorable twin boys with the most fire red hair I've ever seen. Not wanting to be a total creep, I waited til they walked further down the board walk to take a photo. Sigh- I wish I could master the art of telling moms how cute their children are- and how badly I want to photograph them!- without coming off like a weirdo.

I love these smoke stacks.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day!
